With Amanda Jackson from Manda Handmade with Love & Sian Viney of Curiosities & Creations

Join us and other Makers for a knitting and crochet bee to hand make nests for native wildlife injured or homeless due to the tragic, Australian bushfires. They have estimated that over 500 million animals have perished in Australia’s bushfires so far, and so many recovering, injured and needing assistance.

The Australian and worldwide craft community has responded with amazing efforts, and united to make for a good cause. The response to the call outs for sewn, knitted and crochet products for the wildlife has been amazing.

Amanda and Sian are donating their time to host a free Knitting and Crochet Bee for anyone that would like help making nests for wildlife. Also join us if you would like to meet some other Makers while you knit or crochet. This Knitting and Crochet Bee in unfortunately not suitable for complete beginners. Spaces are limited so please book in so we can accommodate everyone.

What to bring:

  • Please bring your own yarn (100% cotton, 100% wool, non-fuzzy 100% acrylic only. Must be machine washable).
  • Please bring your own tools.
  • You can bring an approved pattern you have or patterns will be available.
  • Delicious snacks are welcome for sharing.

Have you already made some nests?

You are welcome to bring along any nests you have already made to add to our collection so we can send them off together to an organisation that is in need. If you cannot make one of the Knitting and Crochet Bees you can still add your nests to our collection to be sent off together by dropping them off at the Sew Make Create workshop by Sunday 19th January. Please contact us about what you have made to donate.
