With Karen Tam
If you’ve attended our Natural Dyeing Workshop or another Natural Dye workshop before and have been wanting to use your newly attained knowledge, then this is the workshop for you.
We are offering a 4 hour dyeing workshop where you can work on your own project under Karen’s supervision and guidance. You can work on a project such as dyeing your own patchwork pieces for a cushion, or wall hanging, table napery, or more. You can sit and stitch together while the pieces are dyeing or steaming and it will be a lovely relaxed workshop where everyone can share and create together.
You will need to bring your own pot, and dyestuff (although Karen will also be bringing some, so please contact us to ask advice for colours, ingredients etc). BYO gloves, 1-2 pots, dyestuff, fabric, anything else you need for your project. (Fabric to dye should be limited to the equivalent of approx. 80 x 80 cm square for reasonable results. Please discuss with us if you wish to bring/dye more than this). Karen will bring extra pots and dye materials, silk and wool fabric to purchase and needles and DMC embroidery thread for use on the day.
If you haven’t dyed before or have attended another natural dye workshop and would like to attend this workshop, please contact us to discuss the knowledge/technique you would like to learn/use. We also run an introductory Natural Dyeing Workshop if you want to learn the basics and more about natural dyeing.
