With Bronnie Zervos
Learn the art of decorative stitching with thread. Hand embroidery is a traditional craft that has never gone out of fashion, a beautiful, mindful, slow and portable craft. In this workshop you will learn how to set up your embroidery hoop, how to use embroidery thread and stitch a collection of embroidery stitches. You will stitch a small sampler to keep as reference for your future embroidered pieces.
Then start creating your own small embroidered piece. There will be patterns to choose from and we can help you to design your own. Please feel free to bring along any ideas you may have. Get creative choosing a colour palette and then start working on your design combining the new stitches you have learnt!
“I thoroughly enjoyed the Hand Embroidery classes by the way, Bronnie was an attentive and patient teacher and the small group size – excellent!”
– Jan attended our Hand Embroidery Workshop
All fabrics, DMC threads, Birch needles, Birch hoops and other materials will be provided and we will also explore using unusual threads and embellishments for a truly mixed media approach. This class is great for beginner stitchers as well as experienced ones.
