Serve your next guests with a wooden cheeseboard with your own design, or create a thoughtful personalised cheeseboard as a special gift. Bring ideas, images or sketches of your own design or use a stencil to trace for inspiration. You don’t need to be an Artist to create a beautiful design. You will draw or trace your design on the wood before burning it. Learn about safety and techniques when using a wood burning tool before tracing your design. Finish your piece by sealing the wood with food grade oil. Metal handles and rubber feet are added for the finishing touch.
Maria hand-picks and cuts all the raw wood for her cheeseboard classes. Picking durable woods, perfect for wood burning and a blank canvas for your design. All tools and materials are provided to create your own wooden cheeseboard.

Maria is the Artist and Teacher at Designs by Poly. She has been teaching wood burning for the past six years, combining her love of fire and art into something that she is passionate about. Maria enjoys seeing people of all ages and abilities give it a go and create something they’re proud of. There’s nothing better than those smiles at the end when everyone gets to take home their pieces.
