With Catherine Carter
Learn how to sew a gorgeous, comfortable kimono-inspired robe to add to your wardrobe. This is an introduction to working with delicate fabrics for dressmaking, from fabric cutting, to sewing French seams, garment assembly and top stitching. Bring along a soft fabric of your choice that will drape nicely like a chiffon, silk, light weight cotton or rayon to create a robe that will become a favourite garment in your wardrobe.
We have chosen this design to be a versatile style that can be worn casually, dressed up in speciality fabrics or worn over swimwear. It is a loose-fitting, draping style. The pattern we use has a body width of 82cm which can be altered if desired in your class.
Please note, you need to have recent sewing experience to attend this workshop. We recommend this workshop for intermediate level sewers who have done some dressmaking before, and have sewn at least 1 to 2 garments. If you would like to learn how to sew to attend this workshop or you need a refresher you can attend our Introduction to Sewing Course.
