With Catherine Carter
Learn the basics of sewing knit and stretch fabrics – there’s no need to be afraid! In this course you will learn how to read a basic pattern and make small alterations, cut your fabric and sew a stretch garment. Learn how to sew stretch fabrics on the sewing machine or an overlocker. Have a go at using the overlocker for the first time and learn how to use it to get a professional looking garment. Hem your garment with a neat twin needle stitch for that finishing touch.
Complete the course feeling confident after you have sewn yourself a basic tshirt, tshirt dress or pair of leggings in class!
“I’m happy to say that after the stretch fabrics workshop, I’ve already made another t-shirt and that after everything I learned and the pattern alternations the teacher helped me with, it came together really easily. It’s opened up a whole new area of sewing projects for me.” – Corinne attended our Learn to Sew Stretch Fabrics Workshop
Please note, you need to have recent sewing experience to attend this workshop. You should be of at least beginner skill level, and able to set up and operate a sewing machine independently. If you would like to learn how to sew to attend this workshop or you need a refresher you can attend our Introduction to Sewing Course.
