If you’re looking for a new hobby, hand embroidery might be it! Hand embroidery is a relaxing and hands-on craft that will help you pass the hours by! Projects can be small or large, they can be stand alone pieces, or hand embroider to embellish or decorate.
In this online class you can learn in the comfort of your own home. A great class to do with the family, or why not meet a friend online to attend together? You will spend the first part learning how to set up your embroidery hoop, how to stitch a collection of common embroidery stitches and then work on the embroidery design.
This is an online workshop! We will send you a physical Materials Kit with all the special materials you need for your workshop. The class fee includes shipping to anywhere in Australia. Please provide your postal address in the “Comments” when you make a booking. You will receive your Materials Kit prior to your class date. To allow time for shipping, bookings for this workshop close 1 week prior to the class date.
This workshop will be delivered via the Zoom platform. You can download this program for free for any computer or device. 1 week prior to your class date you will be sent a link to the Zoom Meeting for your class. At the time of your class you can join the Meeting to join your class.
You will learn the basic embroidery stitches:
- Running stitch
- Back stitch
- Split stitch
- Lazy Daisy
- Satin stitch
A pattern is included in the kit but please feel free to bring along any ideas you may have! At the end of your class, you will have an almost complete, embroidered design and the confidence to continue DIY embroidery projects in your own time.
- Pieces of linen fabric
- 4 colours of DMC embroidery threads
- An embroidery needle
- A needle threader
- A 15cm diameter, Bamboo embroidery hoop
- Embroidery stitch diagram and pattern
- A pair of small scissors for cutting thread
- A pencil
