With Angie White
This course is the perfect introduction to dressmaking, garment sewing and a great project for beginner level sewers. Over 2 classes you will make yourself a simple skirt. You will cover how to read dress patterns, do basic pattern alterations to fit your measurements, cut and prepare fabric for sewing, then sew a skirt with waistband or facing with a zipper to fit you!
You will practice sewing 2 different types of zippers: a concealed or invisible zipper and a regular, lapped zipper. You will then apply your newly acquired skills to cut, fit and sew a skirt for yourself. Select from a couple of skirt styles that will be provided, then bring along your own beautiful fabric to create a simple skirt.
Please note, you need to have recent sewing experience to attend this workshop. You should be of at least beginner level, and able to set up and operate a sewing machine independently. If you would like to learn how to sew to attend this workshop or you need a refresher you can attend our Introduction to Sewing Course.
